Privacy policy

This site is a publication, not an account service. It is built to work without asking you for anything.

Who is responsible for your information

MyWifiGuide Media LLC, publisher of MyWifiGuide at mywifiguide.com, is responsible for the information described in this notice. You can reach us at privacy@mywifiguide.com, or by post at the address on our contact page.

What we do not do

  • We do not ask you to create an account, and there is nothing on this site to log in to.
  • We do not run advertising trackers, cross-site pixels or behavioural profiling on this site.
  • We do not sell, rent or share personal information for money or for cross-context behavioural advertising.
  • We do not collect payment details, because we do not sell anything here.

Information handled when you visit

Like any website, this site is delivered by a hosting provider that records technical request data in order to serve pages and keep the service secure. That typically includes your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, and basic browser and device information sent by your browser. This is used for delivery, security and aggregate traffic volume only, and is not used to build a profile of you.

The lawful basis for this handling is our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning website. Technical logs are retained for a short period consistent with our hosting provider's standard retention and then discarded.

Information you choose to send us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use it only to respond, to act on a correction request, or to keep a record of a correction we published. We keep editorial correspondence for as long as it is relevant to the accuracy of an article, and then delete it.

Please do not send account numbers, passwords or payment details. We do not need them and will not ask for them.

Cookies

This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Details, including what a future change would require, are in our cookie notice.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to operate the site: a hosting and content delivery provider that serves these pages, a domain registrar, and an email provider that carries messages sent to the addresses above. These providers process information on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own advertising purposes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to object to or restrict our use of it, and to complain to your data protection authority. Where applicable, you also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights.

Because we do not maintain accounts, the information we hold about any individual visitor is usually limited to correspondence you have sent us. Email privacy@mywifiguide.com and we will respond within three business days. We may need to ask a question to confirm which correspondence is yours.

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

Our providers may process technical data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where such a transfer involves personal information protected by the laws of your country, we rely on our providers' standard contractual safeguards.

Changes to this notice

If we change what we collect or introduce any tracking technology, we will update this page and change the date above before the change takes effect. Material changes will be described plainly rather than buried.
