Independent consumer reporting on connectivity

MyWifiGuide

Plain-language reporting and explainers on home internet, Wi-Fi networking and how connections actually reach a household.

About

An independent desk covering how households get online

MyWifiGuide explains home internet and Wi-Fi in plain language: what a setting does, why a signal behaves the way it does, and what a document actually commits you to.

What we are

MyWifiGuide is an independent consumer publication founded in 2026 and operated by MyWifiGuide Media LLC in the United States. We write for people who want a connection that works, not for the telecommunications industry.

Every article is general information for a general audience. We describe how equipment and services behave, and we try to be exact about the limits of that description. A home network is a physical system in a specific building, and no article can measure your building.

What we cover

Our reporting is organised into four standing sections.

  • Home Networking Placement, mesh systems, wiring and the practical reasons a signal drops in one room but not another.
  • Broadband Access How connections physically reach an address, and what changes when a new line is built.
  • Standards & Spectrum Wireless generations, radio bands and what a new certification actually changes for a household.
  • Privacy & Safety Router hygiene, encryption settings and sensible habits on networks you do not control.

What we are not

We are not an internet service provider, a reseller, a broker or an agent. We do not sell connectivity, take orders, quote prices on behalf of any company or collect account details. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any provider, manufacturer, trade body or regulator.

We do not publish claims about savings, earnings or guaranteed results, and we do not publish content that helps anyone access a network they are not responsible for.

How we stay independent

Editorial decisions are made by the desk alone. No outside party sees an article before publication, and no commercial arrangement can require, alter or withdraw coverage. Where any relationship could reasonably be seen to bear on an article, we disclose it in the article itself.

Our full sourcing, review and corrections process is published on our editorial standards page.

Getting in touch
