What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store, so the site can recognise that browser later. Related technologies such as local storage, session storage and tracking pixels do the same job by other means. This notice covers all of them together.

Current status of this site

MyWifiGuide does not set cookies, does not write to local or session storage for tracking purposes, and does not embed advertising or social tracking pixels. You do not need to accept anything to read these pages, which is why you will not see a consent banner.

These would be cookies required to deliver a page or protect the site from abuse. Our pages are served as static documents and do not currently need any.

These would remember a choice such as a colour theme. This site follows your operating system or browser setting instead, so nothing needs to be stored.

Analytics and measurement

These would count visits and measure which articles are read. We currently rely only on aggregate server request volume, which does not require a cookie.

Advertising and profiling

These would track you across sites to select advertising. We do not run advertising on this site and do not operate cross-site tracking here.

Technical logs are not cookies

Our hosting provider records standard request information such as your IP address, the page requested and the time, in order to serve the page and keep the service secure. That happens at the network level and does not involve storing anything on your device. It is described in our privacy policy.

Controlling cookies yourself

Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies for any site, usually under a privacy or site-data setting. Because we do not set any, blocking cookies for this domain will not change how these pages work. Blocking cookies can, of course, affect other sites you visit.

Your browser may also offer a global privacy or Do Not Track preference. We do not track you, so there is nothing for us to switch off, and we honour opt-out signals by default in the sense that we never start.

If this ever changes

If we later introduce measurement or any other non-essential technology, we will update this page and the date above before it goes live, name the provider and the purpose, and where the law requires consent we will ask for it first rather than assume it. We will not retroactively apply a new technology to data collected under this notice.
